MG Motor India is at the forefront of change, with a mission to disrupt the auto industry in India. Staying ahead of the innovation curve in the automobile industry in India, MG has introduced industry-first features in the Auto-tech segment with Car As A Platform with a host of service partners in MG Astor.

The MG Developer Program & Grant has been developed to create an innovation platform of choice, for developers and innovators, that will encourage them to build new applications and experiences never imagined before in a car

The theme for MGDP season 3 is CAAP (Car As A Platform) which is in line with MG’s vision on betting big on the future of mobility where cars won’t be seen just as transportation machines but will be more connected, smart, and feature-rich

About CAAP (Car As A Platform)

CAAP (Car As A Platform) essentially features a software at the heart of vehicle development, forming an ecosystem of various in-car services and subscriptions for purpose of utility, entertainment, security, consumer payment, among others. This technology will evolve with time, making vehicles safer and smarter.

Why Participate in the program

The program offers a unique opportunity for innovators and developers to work directly with MG Motor and its technology partners to bring solution to market quickly. The consortium behind the program shall provide :

Specialized, high level mentoring, relevant to practical development of the solution
Learning and relevant content for solution and business development
Business plan and modelling
Provide testing/ lab facility where possible
Network with other participants within the program to drive synergy
Access to other startup and develop programs of consortium members, opening up a large opportunity
Recognition with PR opportunity for winning startups
Access to a grant amount. (Award of grant would be at the sole discretion of program jury, based on their evaluation, on a case to case basis.)

Methodology of the program

Submit application online
Shortlisted startups would be assigned a mentor to develop their ideas
Present the idea on Demo Day (Dates and venue to be announced) to Jury
Jury selects winners for grant and recognition
Shortlisted companies and winners may also get opportunity to test/ develop their solutions with one of the member companies. This would be decided and enabled by the assigned mentor

Categories of the program

a. Utility (location tracking, GPS navigation, search, payment)

b. Security (car and driver analytics)

c. Entertainment (games, music, etc.)
